Tug Hill Wind Generator

This was shot about a year ago–when Joanie & I were visiting family in Upstate New York. The Tug Hill Plateau is a desolate, sparsely populated region in Northern New York State that really has nothing much going for it except wind. The land is poor, farming is very difficult in this place of emptiness, scrub vegetation and rotting farmhouses. Wind power generation is about all the area is good for. There are several hundred of these other-worldly structures silently turning against the lonely sky in this particular part of this windy, almost forgotten area. Driving around among these eerie giants on a cold, melancholy fall day is a sobering, somewhat odd experience.
