Sunday Morning on Broad Street

While my wife was visiting with her daughter in Nazareth, Pennsylvania I wandered around the neighborhood. This scene reminded me very much of Edward Hopper’s 1930 painting “Early Sunday Morning” so I grabbed it.

    Interesting how both the barber pole in Hopper’s painting and the parking meters in yours lean at an odd angle–and in the same direction in both cases. I’d like to see strong long shadows being cast by the parking meters and the lone person in yours to match those of in Hopper’s painting. But either it was the wrong time of day in your shot, or it was cloudy, or they got washed out in your HDR treatment perhaps?
