With this image and commentary I’m taking a brief break from the “Hula-Hootenanny” series. I’ll post more offerings from that outing in a few days. I recently had the opportunity to work with a remarkable model and wanted to get some reaction from knowledgeable people, So—here ‘tis.

This is Krista.

Krista is 15 and an extraordinarily talented writer, having already authored several full-length books. Currently Krista is working on a “Vampire” novel which I think (underline “think”) is somewhat in the tradition of the “Twilight” series though I believe there are some substantive differences. I’m not sure what the differences are since I’ve not read any of the Twilight books. I guess my 17 year-old daughter would be a better judge.

Krista is a member of the writer’s group I belong to and in addition to being a promising writer (I’d be very surprised if she didn’t gain widespread recognition in the next 4 or 5 years) as you can see, she has considerable potential as a model.

I belong to several photographer’s websites and have seen some incredible photography of girls and women in recent years. I’m curious to find out if this image is on the same par as those others. Krista is a beautiful, gifted young lady—I just hope I’ve done her justice in this treatment.

Great photo!! Krista’s book is about demons and I don’t think she’s a big Twilight fan. She scoffs at sparkling vampires although I think she likes werewolves. But you’re right that she’s got quite a talent. I hope she remembers us when she’s famous.

You have captured her in a way that most of us have not seen her. She is beautiful and the way you set the shot up also shows her off well. With her chin resting on her hands and the arms and hands going out in a straight direction, framing her face, gives her “knowing” quality and a sense of something beyond the usual adolescent phase of life. Great job!

The photos of Krista are stunning! Her writing talent is amazing! You have really captured her beauty. Sometimes during our writing group, I cannot help but stare at her as she reads because of her beauty. The story she is working on now is great, and from week-to-week, I look forward to the twists and turns of her storytelling. I wish her so much success in her writing. She inspires me to work harder.

HI Carole–thank you so much for your comment and the time spent writing it–it means a lot to me when people do me the honor of commenting on the site content. I should also add it takes a lot of class for a mature adult to acknowledge being inspired by a 15 year old but that’s the case with me too.
