Isolated Objects

On a Downtown Pedestrian Mall side street I discovered a recently opened gallery and craft retail shop operated by a very engaging young woman. She calls her shop “The Isolated Object”–I assume referring to the intrinsic aesthetic nature or quality of an object that manifests when its removed from its normal context. An example of this might be a fire hydrant taken from the street and displayed in a museum. In that unexpected setting we perceive or relate to it much differently than we did when it was on the street.

The young lady explained her forte was jewelry but she had a lot of glassware on display she had made which I found interesting photographically. I “isolated” these three glass bowls and this is the result.
