Fluvanna backroads.

I’d finished up some things I needed to get done yesterday and decided to do something I love–some backroad wandering–in search of images–looking for those “unseen moments” that I enjoy so much. These 3 shots were probably the best I found. They were taken in and near the little town of Columbia, VA, a sad little community at the eastern edge of Fluvanna County on the James River.

To be fair I guess the town is really no worse than most little towns that seem to have been by-passed by the 21st century. In all likelihood the people who live there don’t think of it as sad it’s just that the main street where rte. 6 passes through is a bit on the dog-earred side.

It may be the good folks of Columbia like having been by-passed.
