Charlottesville Pavilion-2

This is an outside view of the structure at the center of yesterday’s story—about aging rock star Ed Queen.  If you missed that and are interested in reading the story, just scroll down to the last post–Charlottesville Pavilion.

Built in 2005 the Charlottesville Pavilion in Charlottesville, VA, routinely hosts big name acts. Scheduled for the upcoming season are (among many others) Harry Connick Jr., Merle Haggard, Sheryl Crow and B. B. King.

These days its one of Charlottesville’s most prominent attractions but there was considerable controversy surrounding its building when it was first proposed. It’s located at the east end of the Charlottesville Downtown Mall (a restored historic district and pedestrian mall) and is one of, if not the most, iconic structures in the city.
