Well–the little foray into the colorful and abstract didn’t excite much attention so it’s back to the historical stuff.
This is another image from the Frontier Cultural Museum series. This is a typical bed and bedroom from an 18th Century German home. Accommodations such as these were considered fairly luxurious in those days.
Notice the pillows stacked against the headboard. In those days people slept sitting up–it was considered necessary in order to avoid certain respiratory diseases such as “Consumption”–what we today call Tuberculosis
